A modern adventure on the ancient Silk Road
🗓️ SEPTEMBER 29 – OCTOBER 12, 2025 | 📍 GOBI DESERT, CHINA
The Ultra Gobi Series is more than an endurance challenge; it's a cultural movement, a testament to human resilience, and a bridge between cultures and civilizations.
Inspired by the legendary pilgrimage of Master Xuanzang, we've reimagined the ancient Silk Road as a modern adventure. Our mission is to revitalize this historic trade route—once a vibrant center of cultural exchange and commerce—and connect people from diverse backgrounds through the universal language of sport.

Run or trek next to UNESCO World Heritage Sites
Suoyang City, a UNESCO World Heritage site, was founded in the Western Jin Dynasty (266-317) and peaked during the Tang Dynasty (618-907).
As a key Silk Road hub, it significantly impacted the political, economic, cultural, and military dynamics of the Hexi Corridor, influencing the region's development through vibrant exchanges over centuries.

Every Ultra Gobi experience is a echo of history.
As part of the Ultra Gobi 400km, each runner receives half of a Yangling Tiger Tally at the starting line. The other half is awarded upon successful completion of the race.
Historically used by ancient Chinese emperors to mobilize troops and appoint generals, the Tiger Tally was divided into two parts: one given to the general, the other retained by the emperor. Troops could only be dispatched when the two halves were combined.
Once a symbol of imperial authority, the Tiger Tally now honors the modern-day heroes who conquer the grueling 400km across the Gobi Desert.
