Ultra Gobi 400km runner Nicolette Booyens on Sunday Times

Nicolette Booyens pushed her limits at this year's Ultra Gobi 400km race, running through the heat of the day and freezing desert nights. The South African ultra-marathoner finished as the 2nd female and 7th overall, proving that mental strength is just as important as physical endurance.

The Sunday Times, South Africa's biggest Sunday newspaper, covered Nicolette’s full story at the Gobi desert and has touched many South African people and also desert-lovers around the world.

“I look for the craziest, most challenging project to take on. Life is short — you don’t know when you won’t be able to do what you love anymore.”
